CRANKIE

Crankies are painted narrative scrolls performed with music or spoken accompaniment before a live audience. ArtYard has hosted numerous crankie events, inviting collaborative storytelling by members of the community. Kearney’s performance was devised as part of a cranky event in which participants were invited to create a narrative around the theme of “Unearthed” in conjunction with a display of objects unearthed in Frenchtown, New Jersey.
